Aftercare Instructions
Tattoo Aftercare
• Avoid petroleum jelly or A&D ointment.
• Avoid letting your tattoo dry out.
• Avoid contact with pets such as dogs and cats. (Pet dander is a leading cause of tattoos becoming infected).
1. Clean your tattoo 2-3 times daily with warm water and antibacterial soap.
2. Use a product such as Aquaphor or specialized tattoo aftercare products like Hustle Butter for moisturizing.
3. Apply a small amount of your aftercare product and spread it so it covers your tattoo. Do not apply thick, just enough to make your fresh tattoo shiny.
4. Maintain this for the first week. If you wake up during the night to use the bathroom you may want to add another thin layer of product at this time, being it comes off in your sheets during your sleep.
5. Pat dry with a clean towel or let it air dry.
6. Do not rub the area.
7. Avoid covering your tattoo with non-breathable materials like plastic wrap.
8. No swimming or soaking in water for 4-7 days while the tattoo is healing.
9. A properly healing tattoo should maintain a light sheen and may peel slightly.
